The IUCN One Nature, One Future virtual Global Youth* Summit is not just a Summit, it is an experience!

This is our chance to help shape a healthier, more resilient post-pandemic world from the city centre, to rural communities, to the most remote protected areas.

*The Global Youth Summit defines “youth” as those aged 18 to 35. However, in order to allow for meaningful intergenerational collaboration and exchanges, people of all ages are welcome to participate. Participation in the Global Youth Summit is entirely free of charge.

What to expect?

The Global Youth Summit opening on 5 April 2021 will feature special guests that you will not want to miss! Over two weeks, you will be able to join:

Youth-led thematic tracks.

Designed and led by youth, these interactive workshops will dive into the themes of People and Nature, Climate Change, Marine and Freshwater, Technology and Innovation, and Rights and Governance.

Intergenerational dialogues.

This series of high level dialogues will focus on formalising the role of youth in governance, galvanising youth engagement across the world, IUCN’s plans for Nature-based Recovery from COVID-19, and much more!

Build Body Awareness.

We know that it takes a lot to be a champion for nature and an advocate for empowerment. These sessions balance our intellectual activities with mindful movement, breathwork, traditional learning, and yoga.

Networking Opportunities.

Connect with people you admire, share your view of the world! Schedule sessions with mentors to help plot your future, share your work with others, or debrief in small groups after sessions. This is not a time for presentations, this is a time to talk, engage, and share ideas, experiences and visions so we can know and grow together.

Onward.

The Global Youth Summit is the start of something beautiful. We hope to create ongoing relationships and support the continuation of peer-to-peer learning. The Summit outcomes will be presented to the IUCN Members’ Assembly at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille, France in September 2021 — a key moment on the road to the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties (CBD COP 15) in Kunming, China and a new global biodiversity framework for people and planet.

DON’T MISS A MOMENT!
Once the Summit comes to a close, session recordings and recaps will be archived in an online library.
